Tips on using Nixall® for wounds and general wellness

There’s no doubt about it, life is full of adventure and challenge. Sometimes that means a few scrapes and scratches along the way, especially if you have kids and pets!

While it’s impossible to prevent accidents and injuries, you can be ready for them when they happen! By stocking up on the right Nixall® products to match your needs, you can be ready for whatever life throws at you!

Here are some of the ways you can use our family of products to boost your family’s wellness and overall preparedness.

General cleansing

Keeping your hands clean is the first step to reducing the spread of bacteria and germs, but constantly washing your hands can be damaging. How can you keep your skin clean, but also soft and supple?  Nixall® Hand & Skin Cleanser has no alcohol, steroids, sulfates, phosphates, fragrances, or parabens. It is gentle enough to use frequently without harming your skin, in fact it can actually soothe dry and cracked skin.

Disinfect and sanitize

Other than keeping your hands clean, you can actively disinfect and sanitize your living spaces. This will further reduce the spread of germs and bacteria, something especially important with flu season just around the corner. Fortunately, this is easy with Nixall® Disinfectant/Sanitizer, which meets the disinfectant requirements of OSHA’s blood-borne pathogen guidelines. You can use this clean smelling disinfectant throughout your entire home.

First aid

Accidents happen when you least expect it, but that doesn’t mean you can’t always be ready! By having a reliable first aid solution with you, you will be ready to manage irritations caused by insect bites, stings, minor cuts and scratches when they happen. Nixall® First Aid Solution can be applied frequently and helps accelerate the healing process. And since it has an 18-month shelf life, you can keep your first aid kit well stocked year round. There’s also an outdoor first aid pack that you can take with you on the go.

Wound care management

You can proactively help wounds with a safe alternative to the more traditional products, and you can do it without alcohol, steroids, or triclosan. Nixall® Wound + Skin Solution  is a no-sting formula that is safe for infants and kids. It is non-cytotoxic. Since it has an 18-month shelf life, you can keep it stocked so that you have it when you need it.

Animal health and wellness

Wellness is important for your furry, feathered and hoofed friends as well! Skin irritations, burns and other wounds need special care in order to facilitate healing. You can use the VetResponse® line of products to help speed up the healing process. Our no-sting formula is safe around the eyes, ears, nose and mouth and has an 18-month shelf life for easy storage.

Ways to protect hands from over washing

Washing your hands has taken on a new level of importance due to COVID-19. Afterall, hands can definitely spread germs from place to place. This has many people scrubbing their hands more than ever, oftentimes with harsh soaps that are full of chemicals. It’s important to remember, however, that the integrity and health of the skin on your hands needs to be protected. Your skin is a barrier against germs and it’s more critical than ever to protect and nurture it.

This means you’ll want to find a balance between keeping your hands clean, killing germs and protecting your skin. The following tips can help you stay safe without damaging your skin with over washing.

Use the right water temperature

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that you use clean, warm or cold running water to wash your hands. It is not necessary or more beneficial to use very hot water. In fact, using very hot water can damage your skin and contribute to dry, cracking hands. This can be made worse by the number of times people find themselves washing their hands due to COVID-19 concerns. Stick to temperate or cool water.

Use the right cleanser

According to the CDC, washing your hands with simple soap and water is effective against the spread of germs, including COVID-19. This means it’s more important to follow the correct washing technique than it is to use any certain type of soap. So instead of going for super harsh, chemical-heavy soaps, stick to the basics and wash properly. This includes making sure you wash your hands frequently and at the right times, like before eating or after handling food.

Add moisture

When your skin is properly hydrated, it is less fragile and less prone to cracking. This can protect the integrity of your skin, which is an important barrier to keep out germs. It can be difficult to keep your hands moisturized if you’ve increased the level of washing. It’s also not convenient to continually add moisture by slathering your hands with thick lotions or creams. Your best bet is to use a light, convenient and effective method to soothe and moisturize your skin. Our Hand & Skin Cleanser is an easy to use option!
